A writer writes not because he is educated but because he is driven by the need to communicate. Behind the need to communicate is the need to share. Behind the need to share is the need to be understood.

Thank you for sharing this site, it is beautiful and touching. Thank you!
In September 2003, I traveled to Mumbai, India for business. I had the occasion to take holiday in Paris on my way to Mumbai. I had dinner at the hotel and then waited until nightfall to see the famous Toure Eiffel, Paris' greatest monument.
Stepping out from the taxi, I realized that I had entered a new world, one that was made precisely for me, a world full of people, bright lights and romantic allure.
I emerged from the taxi at the steps of the Trocadero at the 16th arrondissement, across the Seine from the Tower. It was 9:30 P.M., a half hour before the Tower was to be lit.
I sat on the steps of the Trocadero, watching the lively people buy their concessionaries and souvenirs. The Carousel twirled with lights and children and lovers. At 10:00 P.M., the Tower illuminated with thousands of white lights, making this the most remarkable sight I had ever seen, a "lighthouse" of architectural brilliance.
It was overwhelming to see this magnificent city that I had only read about in books. I told myself, there on the steps of the Trocadero, that I would write about this place.
And so it all began.
This website was inspired by that trip to Paris. Not only did it inspire me to write of this city, but of Mumbai and Zurich, Amsterdam and Montreal, and all the other cities I have visited, and to share the poems and journals I had written long ago and since then.
I welcome you to my website and thank you for your visit. My hope, whether or not you’re a writer or poet, is to leave more inspired than when you came.
